Dwarven for “crossroads,” Ogjorn is the seat of House Ferrum, one of the prominent noble houses of the Northlands. The town marks the end of the North Road, and it is strategically located at a midpoint between the Dwarven kingdom of Ironhelm to the east, Wintervale to the west and the dozens of small mining communities throughout the northern mountains. It serves as a checkpoint for merchant caravans and a lifeline for iron and other precious metals throughout the Northlands. Trade routes through the town have made it prosperous, while wild tribes, gnoll raiding parties and the proximity of The Chasm have allowed mercenary companies to flourish. As a result, the town is well armed and defended, but has earned a reputation as a den of sellswords and ruffians.
